The easy route for you is:

Lonavala - Pune ( be on Bangalore bye pass) - Katraj ghats - Shirwal - Surul phata ( leave the Pune Kolhapur road here and turn to Wai city road) - Wai city - Pasarni ghats - Panchgani - Mahabaleshwar. Total distance may be 175 ot 190 kms. Few ghat sections on this route. So be alert and cautious while driving.

Dear Kiran From worli take the veer savarkar marg to reach mahim and come on the bandra Flyover and reach via Dharavi, Sion and take mumbai Pune highway and you will pass chembur, Deonar, Turbhe, vashi, belapur and panvel and from there take the expressway which will take you straight
to lonavla. peak hour will take 2.5hrs and off peak less by 30 minutes.

dr tambe is very popular in the Atmasantulana Village. Twelve acres of serenity. Crisp mountain air, verdant greenery, small buildings nestling under tall swaying trees. Just two hours drive from Mumbai, India, but a perfect spot to shuck off the harness of daily life and allow nature's soothing fingers to work their magic over you.

There's a catch though. Treatment is expensive. Tambe justifies it by pointing to the salubrious hill station location and the fact that medicines are prepared by traditional and expensive methods. But if you have money salted away, and could do with a rest cure, the Village is definitely a good choice. And do take advantage of Tambe's discourses. Priceless as they are, they at least come free. all the very best to you and your mother

let Me tell you the resort is supposed to be very expensive and there is a huge waiting list for the general public. Just two hours drive from Mumbai, but a perfect spot to shuck off the harness of daily life and allow nature's soothing fingers to work their magic over you. Add to that Balaji Tambe Vaidya's ayurvedic prowess and you have a perfect prescription for health. But Tambe is more than just an ayurvedic physician. To the hundreds visiting him at his Karla resort near Lonavala, he is friend, philosopher and guide. he is very good but treatment is expensive. most of thje people attended are celebrties i suggest Jindal naturopathy bangalore a better place to be in.

There is no cloak room at khandala station but you have cloak room at lonavla which is the main station as most of the train do not stop at khandala. two kilometer gap between two stations.

There are NO Direct Luxury buses from Lonavala to Mahabaleshwar, but Normal ST Buses and Ordinary Private buses are available from Lonavala to Mahabaleshwar.

For Luxury Bus you have option like from Lonavala to Pune and another luxury from Pune to Mahabaleshwar.

There will be Luxury bus operators who will take you via Pune (Changing Bus at Pune)

In Lonavala Station area and main market, Bus Stand is restricted for Parking
Other wise in Lonavala Parking is NOT a problem.
Most of Hotels, Resorts have thier own parking spaces. Other wise in inteiror lonavala one can park vehicle on the side of road.

Well it depends on your budget to travel by train or flight. surely flight to pune will be faster mode. But if you are tight, train will be better option. If you travel by train you should get down at Manmad. Shirdi is 58km from Manmad. Though kopargaon is only 16km from shirdi whether all train stops that need to be verified. If you are taking flight sure you can take a cab for shirdi which is 190 km from pune. From Pune, lonavala is 260 km which distance you can cover by cab in 4-5 hours time.alternately take a train from kopergaon or manmad which is coming to mumbai via pune as lonavala is 1hr 30 minutes from pune by train.

I would like to know that whether should i go by train from Delhi to Kopergaon or should i take a flight to pune & then take a cab from pune to reach Shirdi. It will better for you to take a flight to pune & then take a cab from pune to reach Shirdi & You can reach Lonavala from Shirdi via Shani Dev Mandir and Talegaon. By doing this you can also visit Shani Mandir and take its blessings. The drive is scenic in the mornings and afternoons with fresh excellent air. The Drive will be approx 7-8 hrs and is a good option instead of coming to Mumbai and taking Express Highway to Lonavla-Pune. The distance from shirdi to lonavala is 230 Km.

There are many well furnished sanitoriums in lonavala which will fit in your budget and easily available if you plan to go on weekdays. weekends are normally full during this season. Patel sanitorium is one of them..

There is also wallace , kapole and krishna arogya bhawan which are also equally good with reasonable budgets and good home cooked food facility is available.

Lonavala provides a panoramic view of the lush green surroundings of the Sahyadri ranges. Following are some of the places to see in Lonavala:-

Rajmachi Point: - Rajmachi Point is situated approximately 6.5 km from Lonavala, on the way from Mumbai to the hill station. Lying just before the point from where the Ghat starts, this spot offers visitors amazing views of the Rajmachi Fort, situated in the valley below. The famous Vaghjai Dari is located here only.

Ryewood Park and ShivajiUdyan:- Ryewood Park and Shivaji Udyan are splendid gardens, which boast of lush greenery. The majestic tall trees and wide open spaces provided by this park make it the perfect picnic spot. Kids love to come here, to run around, enjoy swings and have fun. Situated inside the park is an ancient Shiva Temple, revered by the local people.

TungarliLake:- Tungarli Lake provides the combination of magnificent surroundings and peaceful ambience to its visitors. It serves as the main source of water to the Lonavala hill station and is also a very popular picnic spot.

Valvan Dam:- Valvan Dam is situated near Lonavala, at a distance of approximately 2 km from the town. One of the major attractions of the dam is a beautiful garden, located at its foot. It is the main source of water for the Khopoli power station.

Dear Lavanya,

I hope you must be coming all the way from Hyderabad for some other work also as coming solely for visit to lonavla all the way from Hyderabad is not really worthwhile. Lonavala is a hillstation but not at a very big hieght you can say semi hill station and a good holiday destination for people of mumbai to spend weekend as it takes 2.5 hours to reach lonavla. Not many places to see apart from karla caves ,valvan dam , bushi dam.

Lonavla is a favourite destination for holidays in monsoon for enjoying the falls. lonavala market is quite good .

For reaching lonavala from hyderabad take any train to mumbai and after pune the next stop will be lonavala an hours journey.

I went to Lonavala for this long weekend and returened back today only. I didn't find any good place in Lonavala & Khandala and climate is also hot like in HYD. Hotel people booked cab and showed some 6 places. But didn't find any greenary overthere. They showed Bushi dam....which is very small one and it is in dirty slum area.They showed 3 parks which very small and not good. I didn't feel that I came for hill station. I don't know abt the rainy season. Please consult some one else before you went to Lonavala & Khandala

Thanks for your query in Kiomoi, Lonavla is a nice small hill station in sahyadri hill basically a weekend retreat for Mumbai people. Overall its a lovely polace with very good weather.Bushi dam, Valvan Dam karla caves and lonavla Market is good for roaming couples. Normally monsoon is ideal time to enjoy the falls at khandala/Lonavla but this is also good time. But on weekend you will find it very crowded with people from all over mumbai and pune. you can also visit the set of Big Boss at lonavla and if you have any one known have a trip of amby valley.

The actual distance is difficult to mention as I have never done this particular travel.

But distance between Mumbai and Lonavala is about 100 kms.

And distance bewteen Mumbai and Ratnagiri is about 370 kms.

Deduct about 60-70 kms as distance between Mumbai and Panvel from this combined. That should be rough calculation.

In Lonavala Parking is no problem, except few places like Railway Station Area, Market Area and Bus Stand Area, where some roads are NO PARKING ZONE.

Rest of Lonavala, interior Lonavala you can park your vehicle by the side of road.
Most of the Hotels, Warer Game Resorts have their own parking space for their customer.

Tourist Places like Khopoli Power Station, Tata Garden, Bhushi Dam has Parking Lots.

There are no Problems of parking in Lonavla. Every hotel have their own parking lot . there is no dearth oif parking spaces in lonavla/khandala. Unlike Matheran there is no central parking in lonavla and free movement of vehicles is allowed.

Lonavala is about 112 KMs from Mumbai and directly connected by Mumbai - Pune Express Highway.
You can get private luxury buses to Lonavala from Bandra and Govt Luxury, Semi Luxury buses from Dadar.
Railway is also best option for Lonaval. All the trains going towards Pune hault at Lonavala. Two hours train travelling.
You can also make seat reservation for Lonavala.

From Express Highway Lonavala city is about 3 KMs and on other side Railway Station is also at 3 KMs.

Thanks for your query in Kiomoi, There are several ways you can reach Lonavala.

Railway:

Take any Pune bound train. Several trains ply during the day between Dadar and Pune and all take a stop at Lonavala. It takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes for the train travel. You can come back by the train,too.

Buses:

MSRTC ( i.e. ST) runs several services from Mumbai Central / Parel / Kurla depots. You can travel by regular ST bus or you can choose to travel by the luxury option. You can travel by Volvo starting from Asiad stand from Dadar East, too. You can travel by Pune asiad / luxury buses from Dadar. Several options are available. Buses to Pune run every 15 minutes from Dadar stand.

Your own Vehicle or rented vehicle:

Very easy drive - particularly on super express Pune highway. Start from Bandra - cross over Vashi bridge and toll naka - just before you enter Panvel town get onto Express way - travel till Lonavala exit - Lonavala. If you wish to travel by old Pune highway then from Panvel travel till Khopoli - Borghat section ( be very cautious in the ghat section while you drive ) - Khandala - Lonavala is the route. Travel time depends on traffic jam on this section. But it takes about 2.30 to3 hours.

Thanks for your query in Kiomoi, Lonavla is very close to mumbai and the best way is to reach lonavla by your own car oir hired cab. But alternatively take any pune train Intercity,Deccan Express and indrayni in the morning and Pragati and Decaan queen in the evening it will take 2.5 hours. you can also take volvo buses going to pune and take lonavla.

HI, Firstly do not go to Lonavala during those days without prior booking as it will be packed during Christmas & New year. From Lonavala to Bangalore go to Lonavala station & take a train to Poona, check with railways for the timings to Bangalore. Thanks! Alka Anand

Dear friend Amby valley is like a club and only the admission is granted to the member of the club or any guest of the members. If you know any one who is member of Ambey valley surely you can go there and you will be allowed to spend the night in the valley. I am very much doubtful of any other way you can visit as no club allow outsiders to enter the premises . yes if you can get permission from sahara any thing can be possible but may not be allowed to stay there. Dear Chitra, i suggest keep it last and have 2-3 days for lonavala and make your return ticket to bangalore boarding from lonavala. if you take any mumbai pune train it will take you 3 hour to lonavala spend some great time there and board udyan express for bangalore from lonavla which will reach you next morning to bangalore, have a great time in mumbai and lonavla also till 31st there will be rush so please do the hotel booking in advance if your trip is before 31st with best wishes and regards pp jain

People go on honeymoon to understand each other or to spend real quality time with each other and not for locale hopping, I feel.

From Pune - Lonavala is nearer than Mahabaleshwar. But Mahabaleshwar is the queen of hill stations in Maharashtra and a far better place to be in. Just remember - spending time in both the locations is almost impossible within your time budget. At the most you will touch bases.

Hire a vehicle from Pune - travel to Mahabaleshwar - have a look at few very very impressive sites e.g. Old Mahabaleshwar, Tiger Point, Bombay Point & Venna lake. Definitely spend some time in bustliing and happening bazar areas ( your spouse would like to take few sovereigns from here, I suppose). All types of food is available. Lots of accomodation options, suitable to all pockets, is available. If you do not wish to hire a vehicle from Pune, no problems. Various bus companies run regular services to Mahabaleshwar. And you can travel comfortably within a time span of about 4 to 5 hours.

The time available is enough to cover Mahableshwar and once you cover mahableshwar you will have no charm for lonavla. lonavla is only meant for spending weekend for mumbai people who have no other place nearby.Don't spend too much time in Travelling and enjoy the hills of mahableshwar a beautiful and the best of Maharashtra. you need extra day to cover lonavala.

Thanks for your query in Kiomoi, From Pune Lonaval & Mahabaleshwar are on two different direction. Distance from Pune to Lonavala is 60 KMS and Pune to Mahabaleshwar is 120 KMS.

Both places in two & Half days will be very hectic.
As you have been already to Goa and Looking towards comfort you may consider only LONAVALA.
Travelling and waiting period may take 3 hours (one way)

Mahabaleshwar (6 to 7 hours one way) will little hectic but more naturally beautiful than Lonavala.

Choice is your but consider only one place.

Dear Hasit, If your activity do not require you to commute to Mumbai daily you can think of Residing at lonavla which is a lovely place to set up a home and also is easy to commute to mumbai if your visit is limited. also you are very close to pune. Karla caves very near to lonavala and any auto rickshaw will take you there they are really beautiful and one of the attraction of Lonavla i hope you know about lonavala which is 3 hours journey from mumbai and falls on mumbai pune road and all trains to pune or buses and volvos will take you there. pp jain

Hi! If u are coming from mumbai, in ur car then from the expressway take the second exit point which is called the karla /lonavala exit, then come straight down towards pune , cross treasure island resort and then just 2 mts drive will take u to the Ekveera mandir and karla caves .so here turn left from the highway, go straight down and1 km inside u will reach karla caves. i hope i have made things easier. I was reading a review on another website where the visitor to lonavla had mentioned that one has to be careful choosing the right hotel, as many hotels there, seem to allow indecent activities and it is a known fact. Could you please suggest a hotel which is economical as well as decent enough for a family stay. I am planning to visit lonaavala in November. Hi! of course u need to be a little choosy about where u stay. that would have to be your instinct and the reviews u read. In lonavala la revival rainbow retreat, bijis are all family hotels. I would suggest in karla visit Heritage villas which is totally at the foot of karla caves and a complete family place, treasure island resort. of course that would be according to ur budget. I think decent and indecent goes together every where but please in lonavala there are lot of hotel which are family oriented and very nice like bijis resort or kumar resort and many are available and you need not bother in these hotels good families stay . If you go for pure veg hotels which are many you will really enjoy and there are many as gujrati visitors are maximum so check in any family resort like kumars, bijis etc. pp jain

I myself have stayed in this hotel, and we were a group of about 20 pax. The staff was very friendly and the manager was an elderly gentleman, who was extremely polite. The property is a small hotel, with all basic amenties and very reasoble too. the view from the valley facing rooms is super!

HI! I have personally stayed in this hotel. i liked it. small and cute. of course away from main lonavala but if u have a car it is no problem. Kamat hotel is just opposite which is also very convenient. i think u would like it. Pool is there but u cant get into a pool in this weather.on the whole good choice. Regards alka

Pls do not stay in this hotel. We had gone for a group outing to this hotel. This place is pathetic place, where the hotel manager misbehaved with our girls. He is involved in the kind of business where he introduces the guests with the area incharge and fix a deal.

List of hotels may not give you correct picture and by booking in advance you may land up in hotel which describes many feature but don't have. so decide when you land there and have a good bargain with a good hotel. lonavla has so many budget hotels to choose. pp jain

hi, picking u up is not possible . you will need to go either to borivali or malad or their andheri stop where u need to take the volvo ticket from the counter first, they will drop u on the expressway next to the exist points.this does get very convenient. thanks alka

You can take a volvo which will be available at Dadar and also at andheri opp shopper stop which start from borivli. but it is ideal to take mumbai pune trains which are plenty and get down at lonavla. bus services are expensive also. Hi! lonavla you can travel by train or by volvo. All mumbai-pune trains will be going via lonavla or if you want can take volvo from Dadar but i suggest train as better option. In the 1500 per person budget there are plenty of hotels which will be available. you need not book the hotel as there are too many hotels which you can select, go for kumar resort it has water park also. pp jain

Hi, Go to Google earth to get a road map, gets very convenient with a navigator too. Fuel pumps are at andheri,sion,chembur and also on the expressway. 7 p.m is a good time to leave for mumbai to reach by 10p.m. have a safe trip thanks alka

If you are going by car than please come through western express highway and turn from bandra to dharavi and come to sion and take mumbai-pune road start at the earliest and take expressway to reach fast. You will get plenty of fuelling stations(along with wash rooms) on the highway as both side of highway are petrol pumps, but on safe side go with full tank. Thanks! pp jain

I am planning to visit either Lonavala/Alibaug this 15th. My base will be at Mumbai. I have a few query regarding the journey. I heard both the rail route to Lonavala and the expressway have some beautiful scenic beauty attached to it. Which one to avail to enjoy the most? Hi! Its my suggestion that please visit lonavala and khandala and avoid Alibag. For lonavala you can go by train from mumbai or pune or you can travel by Volvo or by car as you may feel convenient. Yes the expressway is beautiful. you can enjoy the bushi dam, valvan dam and karla caves at lonavala with some tasty chikkis. Alibag at this monsoon time beaches are closed and there are no ferry and caterman services. Mumbai to alibag will take min 4 hours while lonavla in car 3 hours max lonavla is on mumbai pune road and alibag on mumbai goa road. pp jain

hi supriyo, lonavala is heaven during the rains. travelling via the expressway is only 2 hours 30 mts away and a fantastic drive. lonavala is completely packed,especially this weekend. getting a hotel within rs 2000/- is possible if not already booked.do your booking in advance. Sure Volvo buses ply between mumbai and lonavala they take longer due to various stoppages. Thanks alka

Dear Sir you can visit amby valley only if you can get permission from sahara group office otherwise no tourist are allowed to visit the same. Generally tourists are not allowed without prior permission from sahara india. Ambey valley is like any club and only members are having permission to enter. unless you can go as guest of some members or you will have to get the permission from sahara office or some other sources. pp jain

Rajmachi point, bushy dam, karla and bhaja caves , tungarli and the pawna lake , water park at the mtdc or kumar resort are some of the popular places to visit to visit. Hi! You will be surprised by how beautiful and how private Heritage Villas is. It is located at the base of karla caves,it is THE place to be , where u can see the waterfalls and the mountains from your very cottage, having visited the place it is very homely and clean, a must visit. Hi! I will not advise to stay at heritage villa karla instead its advisable to stay at lonavla. Heritage villa is not a great place to stay and there is no life apart from caves. Its tariff around 850 per person per day. Not a great place to stay. pp jain

Hi! lonavla is full of budget hotels and there are various hotels which can suit each pocket. your budget is good and you can easily get the hotels you want. There are most of them which have package with food and breakfast. Being 15th aug followed by raksha bandhan so book the hotel now itself, try to get in to bijis that will be in your budget. Hi, Lonavala Hotel is a very decent and clean hotel. But for weekends you need to stay for 2 days. The rate per Non AC room is around Rs. 1000 - 1200 per night. There are no AC rooms in this hotel. it has a restaurant, TV in the room. The surrounding area is very nice.

Hi! The rainy season is the best for lonavala and particularly with your girlfriend. Lonavala is the place which has all types hotels of all budget and you can get very good food in every budget hotel and at most of the place tariff includes food. please enjoy the rain fall there and visit bushi dam, valvan dalm, karla caves and have some great time with your girl friend. Weekend will be crowded but other day you will get better rates pp jain

hi, You know during the rains the weekends is a fantastic time to visit. lonavala is filled with couples,families and friends. Fariyas is good if budget is no problem. Heritage villas in karla has cottages for Rs 1400 a couple total privacy with a view that is unbelievable. keep a budget for atleast that much .hotels are not charging anything less than Rs 2000/-. This is a review on Heritage Villas in Lonavala. This is based on the experience me and my wife had at this place, which was NOT good at all. I had booked the place for a weekend. Some of the experiences you can expect: 1. The main door of the room is swollen due to water and doesnt close. Hence you spend 5 minutes banging the door to make it shut or open. 2. You expect the door of the bathroom to close properly at least, but you will realise that that doesnt happen too (due to the 'monsoon'). Don't even try the bathroom door coz it just wouldn't shut. 3. You will get a shower room the size of the whole bathroom. Well that is simply because the whole roof of the bathroom drips due to bad maintenance. 4. The room is very musty because three sides of the room walls are wet due to water leakage and moss growing on it. You also wont get any area to keep your clothes and other stuff. 5. When you return from a long trek from outside, dont expect that you will surely get hot water from the tap, because some pipe has just got "blocked". That too in the last two days and hence the owner is not "aware" of it. Hence he offers to send you a hot water bucket instead. How nice. And what gets to you the most is the shocking rudeness of the owner. He says that he would have got other bookings if we didnt want it. So we should have cancelled earlier. (No guarantee that he would refund your money, because he didnt refund ours when we cancelled next day stay). As per him we are "complaining" too much and finding mistakes. This should be "expected" in a place like this in lonavla during monsoon. Just to mention, the special hiked rates are for monsoon season only. So for Rs 2500 per day, you should not expect doors which close, a clean smell free, leakage free room or hot water. If you need the reference of 'Horrible Villas' visit http://www.hotelsinlonavalakhandala.com/heritagevillas.htm. I would sincerely suggest that if you are looking for a place with at least the basic amenities, then better go by someone's recommendation rather than go by the website photos and promises. I would be careful from next time and surely not recommend this place.

Hi, In this budget you will not find any hotel in Lonavala during July and August. This is the peak season and the hotels have hiked up the rates. The least expensive hotel available here is in the range of Rs. 1000/- per night and that too during the weekdays. Most hotels insist on take a 2 nights all meals package during weekends which ends up to be much more expensive. For further questions please mail us.

Hi, There are a lot of hotels in Lonavala in the specified budget namely Lonavala Hotel, Lions Den, Hari International, Chandralok hotel etc. However these are not available for the dates mentioned. You will have to go for an expensive one like Highland Resorts which will cost Rs. 3000/- per double room per night including a food coupon of Rs. 500/- for 2 adults. Else try for Whispering Brooks at Rs. 3200/- per room per night with all meals for 2 adults.

Hi! lonavla and mahableshwar are both in maharashtra. lonavla is 2 hrs 30minutes from mumbai and from lonavla to mahableshwar via pune and via will take another 4 to 5 hrs.In monsoon mahableshwar which receive more than 200 inches rain is almost closed but lonavla is buzzing in rain its not advisable to go to mahableshwar till sept. begining. We are a group of 8 from mumbai and we are planning a bike ride to lonavala which includes a trek to Korigad. What we want to know is that is it possible to continue the bike ride from lonavala to korigad base (i.e. peth-shahpur). Also we are looking for a cheap lodge for our overnite stay at lonavala preferably near the lonavala station. At lonavla you can get all types of hotel from 5 star to economical and no need to do any booking as near the station at lonavala and khandala hotels in plenty will be available with delicious food. I will like you to suggest that please do not take the risk of bike ride to korigad, though its possible but my suggestion please avoid as there are so many mishappenings happens now a days. Thnx Summi, but we are planning the ride next weekend itself, if lonavala doesn't workout this weekend then we will surely come back by next month or so. The other option we are looking at is an overnite trek/ride to jawahar, if you have any takes on that comments are welcome.

Hi, This is a expecting things to do, but the time which you have chosen for the bike ride for the month in July and august is not a good option. I will advice you that first you visit Lonavala in a bus or taxi and get to know about the local area in this month or August and come back agian in the month of Nov or December for this thriller bike ride You can book your accommodation in well in advance from any of the online website like kiomoi.com. as most of the hotel are sold out n lonavala well in advance. Hi Nehal, This weekend most bungalows and farmhouses are booked to capacity. There maybe a few resorts available. Moreover you may have to stretch the budget up to Rs. 2000/- per night (on the higher side). You may try in Swiss Resorts, Rainbow Retreat or Whispering Brooks.

Hi, There is a hotel in the name 'Mittal Residency' which is near the railway station in Lonavala. It is a clean and decent hotel. But they are not selling any packages as of now. Room rates range from 1200 - 2000 depending on the type of accommodation. Each room contains a T.V., attached bathroom. Restaurant, hot/cold water & room service is there.

I have been to this place in may and no surprisingly, i was searching for the hotel standing in front of it.
I think it even doesn't qualify as a hotel.

If you want to talk about the location, please don't go with photos on the web. it has the worst surrounding to spend your vacations in. Case worsens when you have to pay Rs 350 to rickshaw to even get out of that hell and get to somewhere close to lonavala and even for that you have to wait for atleast 1 hr waiting for rikshaw.

Service in hotel is like having a servant couple at your home so expecting a good food, good quality service is a mistake that you can make. For good food, you can go to tony da dhaba which is atleast 150 bucks away by a rikshaw.

When asked about this to owner, he is very arrogant, forget about returning your advance, he will start quarreling with you in a loud voice.

Overall an unforgettable worst experience was followed by a very pleasant one when we shifted to a hotel near lonavala station much better than it at much lower cost (This place is not even worth living free).

There are lots of resorts in lonavala but some of them are very good.You can accomodate in any one of the following:

Fariyas Holiday Resort(5 star)
Rainbow Resort(4star)
Kumar Resoat (3 star)
Biji's Hill Resort(3 star)

Lonavala is a very good place to spend time,enjoy yourself.

If you want a reasonable place for your stay contact Mr. Arhum on 9969594951. There are row houses of 3 BHK & 2BHK available with him. He charges nominal amount. JUst Rs.4000/- for 12 persons in 3BHK & Rs.3500/- for 10 pesons in 2 BHK. The rooms are clean. It is a decent place to stay. It is near to the expressway and mumbai pune road. It is not too far from the market and st stand. The care taker is available to provide food at a reasonable rate. You can try out this place next time you visit. Thanks

Monsoon is just started in Lonavala since last week and there is very less rain showers in last two days. It is predicted that there will less rain showers in next week also.

One can enjoy the Lonavala for next two weeks.

Karla is 114 kms from Mumbai. *It would take you roughly three hours by express TRAIN from Mumbai to Lonavala. Fares around Rs. 70/- to Rs. 200/- . Karla caves are situated around 11 km away from Lonavala, You can avail the service of a f S.T. buses from Lonavala to reach Karla Caves. *There are TAXIS available from Dadar T.T. in Mumbai, approximately fares from Mumbai to Lonavala will be Rs. 100 to Rs. 250/-. Karla Caves are 114Kms from Mumbai and 20 km from Lonavla. By Road-Buses plying between Pune and Mumbai go via Karla only. You can also hire private vehicles for the purpose. The bus service takes roughly two hours from Pune to Lonavala, it takes twice that time from Mumbai. You can even take a taxi from Mumbai to Karla Caves. By Rail-The local railway station of Malavil is only 5 km away. It would take you roughly three hours by express train from Mumbai to Lonavala. By Air-You could fly in to Pune and reach Lonavala by rail or by road.The nearest airport is that of Pune airport, situated at a distance of 55 km from Karla.

Cheapest way to reach mahableshwar will be to takea local train from Lonala to pune.From pune takea bus to Mahableshwar This is the most economical way to reach mahableshwar and also quick way.

Lonavala to Mahabaleshwar :

Cheapest way is ST Maharashtra Buses.

There is no direct bus from Lonavala to Pune. But you can Travel like Lonaval to Pune and then Pune to Mahabaleshwar.

There are many buses for Pune from Lonavala (All buses from Mumbai to Pune passes through Lonavala)

And Pune to Mahabaleshwar there are many ST Buses.
