The gorgeous state of Chhattisgarh is located in the heart of India. It is gifted with rich cultural heritage. This stunning state casts a spell over the tourists. The state of Chhattisgarh came into being only recently. It is shelled out from the state of Madhya Pradesh. In primeval times the area of Chhattisgarh was known as Dakshin-Kausal. The region has been ruled by various dynasties in the past. To name a few, they were Kalchuri, Nagvanshi, Sarabhpurias, Panduvanshi and Somvanshi. After the India's independence Chhattisgarh became a part of state Madhya Pradesh. But on 1st November 2000,Chattisgarh came into being, as the 26th State of the Union.
Climate/Temperature: The emerald green land of Chhattisgarh is situated in the Tropic of Cancer. Because of this location of the state it experiences hot and humid climate. The temperature throughout the year is warm and humid. The monsoon season extends from July to September. The climate of Chhattisgarh is mainly tropical, humid and sub-humid

Chitrakote Waterfall- The Chitrakote Falls is a natural waterfall located to the west of Jagdalpur, in Bastar district in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh on the Indravati River.
Bilaspur - Bilaspur is well known for its Kosa silk and the quality of its rice. It is the second-largest city in Chhattisgarh, and home to its High Court. The city is approximately 400 years old. The name is derived from bilasa, the name for fisherwomen.
Kutaghat Dam - This popular picnic spot is surrounded by forests and hills on the four sides. It is located 10 km away from Ratanpur district.
Khadia Dam – Another dam which is popular in Chhattisgarh is the Khadia Dam. It is known for its beauty and exquisiteness.
Belpan – This place is widely known for its big pond and Samadhi.

Chhattisgarh is a place where the adventure lust of people can be quenched. There is a great scope of various adventure sports in the region. Some of the major water sports of the district are trekking, rock climbing, water sports, parasailing and bungee jumping.
Geography
The total land area of state of Chhattisgarh is around 1,35,100 sq. kms. The emerald State of Chhattisgarh has 44% of its area under forests, and is one of the richest bio-diversity areas in the country. The Mahanadi is the principal river of the State
People / Population: The total population of Chhattisgarh is approximately 176.15 lakhs. The people of Chhattisgarh comprise of a diverse urban population with people from the neighbouring states who migrated into the state in search of work. The major tribal groups of Chhattisgarh are the Gonds with the other smaller tribes like the Kanwar, Brinjhwar, Bhaina, Bhatra, Oraon, Munda, Kamar, Halba, Baiga, Sanwra, Korwa, Bharia, Nageshia, Manghwar, Kharia and Dhanwar tribes.
Religions: About two-third of the people of the district are animists and one-third are Hindus. There is a minority of Muslims in the state. There is a large percentage of converted Christians in the state also. Chhattisgarh is a depot of literature, arts and crafts. Hinduism is the main religion in the state. Then there is a sizable population of Muslims and Buddhists. A majority of the people of Chhattisgarh belongs to tribal communities. Many of the tribes converted to Christianity under the influence of early missionaries who worked in the area.
Languages: There are two main languages spoken in the region, which are Hindi and Chhattisgarhi. The tribal people have many other languages, which they use to communicate.
